Founded in Lugano in 1983 by Daniele Finzi Pasca, Teatro Sunil has produced over 30 theater and dance performances and has worked with more than 200 performers in various countries. The core team has taken shape over the years and includes Maria Bonzanigo, Daniele Finzi Pasca, Marco Finzi Pasca, Hugo Gargiulo, Dolores Heredia and Antonio Vergamini. The company has performed in 26 countries and worked on joint productions with Swiss, Italian, Austrian, Brazilian, Canadian and Mexican companies. With Teatro della carezza, it operates a research laboratory on the technical approach in the work of both actors and dancers. The style adopted by the Teatro Sunil has given rise to a creative culture and technique that focus on beauty, nostalgia and the invisible gesture. Over the years, the troupe has presented its creative approach in training sessions and at conferences. In recent years, Daniele Finzi Pasca has directed several creations that have led Teatro Sunil, or some of its members, to work with him in various creative teams: Nomade and Rain for Cirque Eloize, Corteo for Cirque du Soleil, and the closing ceremony for the 20th Olympic games ceremony in Turin in 2006 for Filmmaster and Toroc. This remarkable event was watched by 35,000 spectators in the Olympic stadium and more than two million TV viewers.
