Born in Montevideo in 1965. In conjunction with his studies in architecture, Hugo Gargiulo began his training as an actor with Master Luis Cerminara. In Uruguay, he first got his feet wet in acting in different areas of theatre. In 1994, he met Daniele Finzi Pasca and the poetics of Teatro Sunil, and became a permanent member of the company in 1997. With Teatro Sunil, he continued to develop his multi-faceted spirit and participated in the creation of several shows as an actor, playwright, director, and set designer. He has also participated in major productions headed by Daniele Finzi Pasca including Corteo by Cirque du Soleil, where he served as acting designer. For Cirque Éloize, he managed the replacement artists for the shows Nomade - At night the sky is endless and Rain. He assisted Finzi Pasca in the production of the closing ceremonies for the 20th Olympic Winter Games in Torino.
